Super Bowl Depression is over...

Okay, so my SBD - SuperBowl Depression - is gone now. I can say this and mean it now - congrats to the New York Football Giants. I don't know which one felt worse, losing to Peyton or Eli Manning but they BOTH were wretched times.

The Giants played well, stayed level headed - no mistakes by Eli - and were coached well. YEs that's right ladies and gents, Tom Coughlin and staff OUTCOACHED a Bill Billicheck staff. That's 2 years in a row that Big Bill has just flat out been outcoached when it counted.

You may be wondering why we have SBD right now. Allow me to explain - WE AREN'T USED TO LOSING ANYMORE! This is the first year since 2002 that a Boston team has gone to the championship game and DIDN'T win. SuperBowl 35,37 and 38 -we went, we won. 2004 and 2007 World Series - Sox went, Sox won. And if you throw in my hometown Detroit Pistons championship in 2004, I've seen 6 championships in 6 years! THEN you throw in the fact that the Patriots haven't lost a game ALL YEAR, we've forgotten what losing feels like. Lastly, you throw in the fact that HISTORY was almost made and we were robbed from that experience - the experience to see something that hasn't been done in 35 years - we were a bit bummed.

But alas, I'm better now. Basketball season is well underway and the Celtics and Pistons are on a collision course for the Eastern Conference Finals - can't wait!

And like any good New Englander would say after not winning the SuperBowl - 49 Days until baseball season begins! Go Sox and go Tigers! Down with the Stankees!
